Walking tours by Salaam Baalak Trust (Delhi, India)

Salaam Baalak Trust is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation providing care and support to street and working children in Delhi and NCR. The organisation runs daily walks guided by young professionals who were once street kids before being trained as local guides, giving them the opportunity to improve their communication and speaking skills and increase their opportunity to work in the tourism industry. The walks cover off-track Delhi, venturing through narrow alleys and backstreets, giving guests an insight into the lives of Delhi’s inhabitants. All donations support the generous community work of the Salaam Baalak Trust.

They have different projects amongs them: child rescue, Mobile School in collaboration with Children Hope and collaborate with many others.

They also have different programs: Full care residential, inclusion through education, health, performing arts, nutrition initiatives and much more.

About the organiser: Salaam Baalak Trust is an Indian non-profit and non-governmental organisation registered as a Trust to under the Indian Trust Act (1908) provide care and protection support to street and working children in Delhi and NCR. The Trust was established in December, 1988 with the proceeds from the film Salaam Bombay - a film depicting the lives and vulnerabilities of street children directed by Mira Nair.
