2 hours drive from Hanoi you can find this bear sanctuary where bears are rehabilitated and cared for and where their bear teams gather vital evidence of the effects of bile extraction. Their world-class bear rescue centre Tam Dao, Vietnam provides the bears with comfortable dens and semi-natural enclosures where they are able to recover in safety and spend the remaining years of their lives in the company of other bears. To date, 400 farmed bears have been received into their care.
The Bear Rescue Centre is not open to the public on a daily basis. However, to accommodate the many requests for visits, they arrange Open Day guided tours each month.
The tours are limited to two groups of maximum 20 people per day, starting at 9.30am and 3.00pm.
The Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre is about a two-hour drive from Hanoi and visitors will need to arrange their own transport.
Once your booking is confirmed they will send you a map with directions and address of the rescue centre. All visits must be confirmed by Animals Asia in advance.
The Open Days are held on Saturdays only, on the dates listed below and for administrative and organisational reasons, we cannot accommodate visits outside these dates. Please take this into account before booking your trip as we cannot accommodate individual schedules.
This is a great experience if you want to see something different while your stay in Vietnam and at the same time support a beautiful cause.
